  • Uninstalling SideSlide: Use the Uninstall shortcut from the Programs Menu. After it's done, the settings folder will open automatically — you can delete it unless you want to keep your settings for a future reinstall.
  • Starting the Portable Version with Windows 10/11: To auto-launch SideSlide with Windows 10/11, create a shortcut to SideSlide.exe and place it in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\StartUp.
  • See here on how to disable the Windows 11 startup delay that prevents SideSlide from loading automatically without waiting. (After that, create a container named #STARTUP and place all your startup shortcuts inside it).
  • Upgrading from an Earlier Portable Version: Open SideSlide's root folder (Press F3 when the workspace is in focus and F3 again when the Settings dialog is displayed), exit the program, and extract all the files from the portable version Zip file into SideSlide's root folder.
  • Supported Operating System Versions: 11 / 10 / 8 / 7 / XP.
  • Windows Smart App Control blocks SideSlide.exe from starting: Open Windows Security and disable Smart App Control and check the following paragraph for more.
  • Microsoft Defender SmartScreen may block SideSlide. To proceed, click 'More info' and select 'Run anyway.' As an independent freeware developer, I cannot afford a Code Signing Certificate and may not be able to provide irrefutable proof to Certificate Authorities I exist.

SmartScreen flags software lacking an expensive verification certificate. While this enhances security, it also places a financial burden on small developers, especially freeware developers. SideSlide is safe.
